Nob Hill Apartment

This project was truly an honor and a challenge. The apartment is located on the seventh floor of a land mark Beaux-Arts building in San Francisco. It is used for entertaining and as a city “get away”. The strong architectural features called for some formality with furnishings and fabrics. The clients wanted bold color and playful artwork to amuse and enjoy. The living room space was once a swimming pool area for the building thus the vintage stained glass ceiling. The design of the living room rug is called “earthquake ” which is appropriate for this location! Bright yellow was used to warm up the windowless dining room. The kitchen became a black and white space that is upbeat and happy. The back bedroom serves as an entertainment space with a banquette that becomes twin beds. Some of the best views of the apartment are from the master bedroom towards Union Square and Grace Cathedral. Guest are often standing on the outside patio enjoying the views.
